Ulfah has been the Head of the Museum and Historic Building Section at the Palembang City Culture Service since 2017. In 2020 Ulfah participated in the 'Layers of Memories: Our Common History' project in collaboration with the Rujak Centre for Urban Studies, Kyoto University and Kampung Akuarium, North Jakarta. Ulfah and her colleagues were inspired by this approach and have began collaborating with communities in Palembang, especially the cultural heritage of indigenous communities. Ulfah hopes there would be a museum depicting these community activities in Palembang in the future.
